Romance Suspense

Tamara Lyons was bridesmaid to the woman who took her boyfriend away from her. Admitting that she must not have loved Jordan enough, and knowing he loved the woman he had tried to find for seven years, made the split easier.

Tamara had a bit too much to drink at the wedding party and made a pass at Noah McCall, Jordan's boss. A year later, she still cringes when she thinks about how she threw herself at the gorgeous man -- only to be rejected. So when she is out on the town with her girlfriends and Noah shows up asking for her help, Tamara wants nothing to do with him.

Noah needs someone special for his latest case -- a woman who looks like a teenager. Tamara fits that description perfectly. She is a five-foot petite woman who can be both feisty and luscious yet can easily pass for a teenager. He is excited to see her again. He remembers how easy it would have been to give into temptation the year before and make love to her. But Noah knows he can't ever be in a permanent relationship. His job is dangerous; he is committed to finding missing persons through his business, Last Chance Rescue, and he is not meant to have children.

Tamara agrees to help Noah by pretending to be the teenager online where someone is posing as a high school football quarterback who sets up dates with unsuspecting young girls. The girls are kidnapped and are to be sold to the highest bidder for whatever foul pleasures the bidder desires. Noah has promised Tamara will be completely safe; several of his staff will be watching her as she meets with the "football jock."

The plan goes terribly awry and Tamara's life becomes a living nightmare. When the man behind the scam shows his face, Tamara is absolutely shocked. Noah arrives to play a role in the nasty business in an attempt to save Tamara and must make decisions that will change him forever.

RETURN TO ME is Christy Reece's second book of the Last Chance Rescue trilogy. I was hooked with all the emotion and angst of the first book and was drawn to the Noah McCall character. RETURN TO ME delivers all that the first book promised and more. Happily, the third installment is right around the corner.

SUMMARY

Posing as an underage teenager, Samara Lyons is out to trap an online predator. Smart, fiery, and fresh off a broken engagement, Samara is up for the challenge. But this challenge might not be so easy. Her boss, Noah McCall, head of a private international corporation called Last Chance Rescue, can’t disguise his raw, physical desire for Samara—and she’s going crazy battling her own feelings toward him. The middle of a high-stakes op, with the fate of dozens of innocent lives on the line, is not the time to indulge in sensual delights.

Then the sting explodes, forcing Noah to face his dark past, and throwing Samara into the middle of an evil tug- of-war. Noah must confront an enemy he knows better than anyone else in the world while Samara must find a way to stay alive. Now it’s no longer a matter of desire, it’s all about survival.
