Joley is a rock star. She's also a Drake -- one of the seven
Drake sisters - a family of witches with each sister having
a different power. Joley's power is the gift of music; of
singing. She's got a huge fan base, so naturally, she has a
bodyguard. And what a bodyguard. Ilya Prakenskii is very
cool, dangerously sexy -- and a secret Russian hit man. At
least, that's what Joley thinks.
The bad part of all this is that she's very, very attracted
to Ilya, but she shouldn't be, since he's probably
connected to the Russian mob. But how can she resist a man
like that? Especially when he may be the only thing
protecting her from a seriously deranged fan who's
threatened her life.
TURBULENT SEA was one of my favorite Drake Sisters novels.
They've all been very good, but this one was delightful.
The chemistry between Joley and Ilya is all the sweeter
because of Joley's fear that he's a mobster. The action is
exciting and the characters are, as always, intriguing and
satisfying. A very good read.
Bewitching rock superstar Joley Drake can have any lover
she wants. But when her life is threatened, her
dangerously sexy bodyguard is the only man she needs.
There’s just one problem: his shadowy reputation as a
secret Russian hit man may put Joley in even greater
peril…
good book, from beginning to end. Read this on Tuesday. No real surprises in this one,as some of this had been covered in previous books in the series. At times felt sorry for Ilya, and felt that Joley was being on the "selfish or self-centered" side, especially considering everything that had gone on in past books.
I can't wait for the next sister's book in the series.
