When Jordan Bliss was rescued from Venezuela by Navy SEALS,
the brave men refused to let her take her almost-son Miguel
with her. She was in the war-torn country to bring four-
year-old Miguel home after going through a torturous
process to adopt him.
But Navy SEAL Solomon McGuire follows orders without fail,
and his orders did not include bringing a young boy out of
the country. Once he's stateside, though, Solomon can't
forget Jordan's devastation, and he decides to rescue the
boy. In return, he asks for Jordan's help with his son,
Silas, whose mother had stolen him when he was a baby.
Solomon has just recently received the boy back. Jordan
agrees, but still makes plans to return to Venezuela to get
Miguel.
Gotta love any romance that involves a SEAL. There's a lot
of emotion packed into this book -- Solomon's love for the
son he just recovered, his guilt over wrenching Jordan away
from Miguel, Jordan's growing attachment to Silas and her
yearning for Miguel. Add in all the fear and terror of
Venezuela and you have an action-packed drama that combines
love, loss, excitement and hope. Ms. Melton tackles this
complex plot well. A good read.
