Nick Marsden has always known that he wanted to be a pilot
and run his own flying service. His dream to succeed
always came first. He was lucky to meet Stefanie, and have
her become his wife. She loves, understands, and accepts
him for his faults. Now that the plane he is flying is
about to crash in a blizzard, he takes a look back on his
life and realizes there are many things that he should have
done differently. He took his wife for granted, and
providing for his family may not have been enough. He
understands now that sometimes words may be better than
actions. If only he had ever told Stefanie how he truly
felt, then he would have no regrets. Will he be able to
say it to her in person? Or will the letter he writes be
all that she ever sees?
Stefanie Marsden considers herself blessed since she is
married to the love of her life for thirty years. When she
receives a phone call telling her that Nick has not
returned and that he is an hour overdue, she knows that
this could possibly be what she has dreaded all her life.
She knows that as a pilot's wife any number of things could
happen to an airplane, but she also has to have faith that
Nick is able to handle whatever situation comes his way.
It is now a matter of waiting. As she waits, she reads
through the journals that she has kept over the years. She
recalls first meeting Nick, and knowing from that moment
that he was something special. Are memories all that she
has left? Will she ever be able to tell him again that she
loves him? Will she ever hear those words from her
husband's lips?
Rebecca Winters has written a true treasure that will
enrich the lives of her readers. She has captured the
essence of a wonderful love story. Her characters are
flawed but genuine and appealing to the reader. As
witnessed through their memories, Nick and Stefanie have
surmounted many obstacles in their journey together. Their
love for each other has been tested and it is enduring.
Their devotion makes this story an exceptional romance.
Intermingling the past with the present, gives the reader a
better understanding of the characters. I appreciated the
structure of this tale, and the way it just seemed to
flow. I truly believe that Ms. Winters has created a
beautiful story. THE VOW is an unforgettable romance and a
novel that I highly recommend.
I've loved you more than any man has ever loved a woman.
If I get out of this alive, I vow never to let a day or
night go by without telling you that.
When his plane goes down in a Montana blizzard, pilot Nick
Marsden is stranded with little more than notepaper, a pen
and his memories. As he struggles to stay alive, he
recalls the past in barely legible letters to his wife,
Stefanie. Nick's always believed that actions speak louder
than words. But now words are all he has.
It all comes back: their tumultuous high school courtship,
the disapproval of family and friends, a separation that
almost undid them. And their marriage—with its many
blessings and a loss for which Nick has always blamed
himself.
Now he must fight the odds again to return to Stefanie.
And there are three words he has to say to her when he
does….
