Mystery Amateur Sleuth | Mystery Woman Sleuth | Romance Suspense

Shoe designer Maddie Springer is elated. Her dream of participating in Paris fashion shows has come true. Unfortunately, this aggravating habit she's acquired lately of being involved in dead bodies follows her overseas. European designer Jean Luc LeCroix's top runway model is found dead, stabbed with a stiletto heel. Of course, that was how Maddie offed someone in a previous book, so she's a top suspect. Even worse than being a murder suspect -- police confiscate all the shoes she created for the show as evidence. No amount of pleading, begging or crying will get them returned, so Maddie decides she needs to clear her name and find the killer. Naturally, boyfriend and hottie homicide detective Jack Ramirez is around to help out, but it seems their relationship maybe have hit some hurdles that can't be overcome. The fourth release in this witty, fast-moving High Heels mystery series will captivate readers. This book ventures into a little more seriousness than previous novels. For romance readers, the possible demise of Maddie and Ramirez's relationship is a page-turner! And it's a little sad that Maddie doesn't get her opportunity to show shoes in Paris. But still, you'll giggle and snort at Maddie's wit and Ms. Halliday's excellent writing. A fun series!

SUMMARY

Baguettes, bodies, and haut couture galore! Shoe designer turned amateur sleuth, Maddie Springer, is at it again, this time in fabulously fashionable Paris. When Europe's designer de jour, Jean Luc LeCroix, invites Maddie to show her heels off at Paris Fashion Week, Maddie's sure she's died and gone to heaven. That is until Jean Luc's top model is found dead on the runway, stabbed with a stiletto heel. A mode of murder all too familiar to Maddie - someone is trying to frame her for murder. Never one to lie down and take it, Maddie enlists the help of her friends, along with the sexy Detective Jack Ramirez, to uncover a daring jewel heist, a devious blackmail plot, an undercover lover, and even a few skeletons lurking in the closets of those closest to her. But as the evidence piles up, Maddie becomes the prime suspect and Ramirez is stuck between a badge and a cute blonde with a tendency for trouble. Will he stand by her as she attempts to track down an international killer, or will this be the case that finally comes between them? One thing's for sure, if Maddie doesn't find out who has it in for her quickly, she may be saying her final adieu.
