Fantasy | Romance Paranormal

Princess Meredith (Merry) Gentry returns to Los Angelus accompanied by her royal guards in book six of Hamilton's popular series featuring the half human/half fairie princess who (for five books) has been desperately (and unsuccessfully) trying to get pregnant, thereby securing the Unseelie Throne for herself. Merry's uncle, King Taranis of the Seelie Court has accused three of her guards (and lovers) of rape and has gone to human authorities to pursue his claim. Merry knows Taranis' charges to be false and can't understand how he's persuaded a lady of his court to tell such an outrageous story, since the sidhe are incapable of lying.

Merry is soon reminded that her uncle isn't known as the King of Light and Illusion for nothing. In the midst of negotiations, Taranis tries to bespell Merry. His ploy fails and enraged, he attacks her and her guards. The attack wounds Rhys and Doyle. Both live, but Doyle, one of her favorites, is grievously wounded. And Taranis isn't finished with Merry. His plans for his niece go beyond anything she could ever imagine. Merry's battles don't end with her uncle; players in both courts conspire to bring her down. But Merry has friends and supporters and the goddess in her is growing stronger every day. She may yet live to see her mission fulfilled. Not all those who stand with her will be so lucky.

Stalwart fans of the Meredith Gentry saga will be pleased with this new offering, sure to hit the bestseller list. The conclusion will leave readers hanging, clamoring for more. The last 50 pages of A LICK OF FROST hold some of the most haunting and intriguing images of the entire series.
