Feenie Malone lived a comfortable life married to a lawyer,
keeping herself busy with charity projects, until she
discovered her husband was having an affair. Two years
later, Feenie works as a cub reporter, barely making ends
meet. When she learns her ex-husband withheld joint
property, a boat, in the divorce settlement, she wants her
share. Under the cover of night, Feenie goes to her
husband's home to get proof that he still has the boat, but
someone knocks her down and throws her in the water. She
has guts, if not prowess, in sneaking around.
Marco Juarez, ex-cop and private investigator, is
investigating the murder of his sister. Evidence has led
him to Feenie's ex-husband, but he doesn't expect Feenie to
show up on his stakeout. Juarez throws her in the water as
a drastic action to keep her safe. Feenie may have
knowledge Juarez needs, so he intends on getting to know
her; it's an added bonus that he's attracted to her. He
just hasn't planned on falling in love with her.
Feenie's ex-husband knows she's been snooping around. He's
a dangerous man linked with well-known crime figure, and so
far she's been able to escape the attempts on her life.
Juarez is doing all he can to keep her safe. She wants to
write a breakout story about her ex and knows Juarez has
information. But more importantly, she needs to know
whether Juarez has been using her to further his
investigation or if he might feel something for her.
ONE LAST BREATH brings two goal-driven characters together
for a common objective. Lots of action -- on stakeouts and
in bed -- makes for one hot story.
He's an ex-cop. She's an ex-wife. And they're both out for
revenge on the same man....
When pampered former cheerleader Feenie Malone takes a job
writing fluff pieces for her South Texas paper, she has no
idea she's about to stumble into a juicy news story that
could launch her career -- if it doesn't get her killed
first. Almost as soon as she breaks out her press pass, she
crosses paths with Marco Juarez, the macho PI obsessed with
solving his sister's murder. The information he has might
be the perfect lead -- but his dangerously sexy looks could
be a deadly distraction.
Juarez has zero patience for reporters, especially mouthy
blond ones. But with the evidence pointing to Feenie's ex-
husband, Marco thinks she could be useful. Confident he can
keep her on a tight leash, he lets her in on his
investigation. He quickly discovers he's underestimated his
new partner, as well as the danger they both face. Now he
must protect her -- to the very last breath....
