Gin Bombay tries to be like most single moms, but her family business makes that a bit hard. You see, Gin comes from a very, very long line of assassins. That's right, even if they only kill really bad people who deserve it, the Bombays are top-secret assassins. Now, Gin has received an invitation to a dreaded family reunion, which usually means a member of the family is in trouble and on the hit list. It also means that her lovely 5-year-old daughter, Romi, is at the age when she'll be officially indoctrinated into the family business and her training as an assassin begins. Yikes!
If that weren't enough to rattle her nerves, Gin is contending with a new puppy, reluctantly leading Romi's Girl Scout Daisy troop and handling whatever killing assignment comes her way. Then Diego Jones, a totally hot and hunky Aussie bodyguard, enters her life, and he becomes intent on a relationship with Gin. Talk about sensual overload!
The Bombay family reunion proves just as bad as Gin feared -- there's a mole in the ranks who's threatening to expose family secrets and members. If she can't find out who the bad apple is and remove him/her, Gin just might be the one eliminated. Oh, yeah, just another ordinary day in the life of an assassin!
New author Leslie Langtry has penned a cleverly fresh and glib mystery with just the right touch of romance in 'SCUSE ME WHILE I KILL THIS GUY. The heroine's sarcastic narrative concerning the family business and her part in it kept me totally entertained first page to last. I didn't know what to expect next. I do know that I can't wait to read more screwball antics about this unique family of assassins.
