The Boscastle family is back. Switch on those air
conditioners because Heath's story may be the hottest yet.
Lt. Col. Lord Heath Boscastle had difficulty hiding his
shock when his old friend, Col. Sir Russell Althorne, asked
him not to return to his military duties, but to serve as a
protector of a woman. And that woman, of all the ones in
the world! Julia, who had once been Heath's almost-lover,
is now engaged to Russell and THAT's whom Russell asks him
to protect. How can he spend time around Julia and not
remember what almost happened between them?
Julia walks the edge of society and is commonly known
as "Wicked Lady Whitby." She's never had much patience for
pretensions and following the rules. But this is too much.
Heath watching over her? After what had almost happened
between them? Insane. But Russell is convinced that her
life could be in danger because of something from his past,
and she tries to gracefully give in to the plan. But how
can she be around Heath all the time, making her think of
the emotions she felt so strongly with him?
As the two walk in cautious circles around each other,
they're challenged by numerous outside situations. There's
Brentford, the man who has an obvious crush on Julia.
There's concern about the psycho, Auclair, who tortured
Boscastle and is the man who's supposed to be threatening
Julia's life. And of course, there's the escalating sexual
tension between the two of them. But Heath can't betray his
old friend, who risked his life to save Heath when Auclair
had captured him, and Julia can't betray her new fiancé,
either. But as events begin to unfold rapidly, the two are
drawn together through their attraction and their very real
liking for each other.
I have loved each of these Boscastle books. Terrific story
lines, great characters and a deep sensuality run through
each book. Heath's story will have your heart pumping. But
all of the Boscastles are perfect "dream man" material! You
can certainly read this one on its own, but I highly
recommend reading the two previous books. There are always
heroes who stick in your head and I found three in one
series!
Lord Heath Boscastle’s attraction for Julia Hepworth begins
with a bang. She shoots him at a hunting party–
accidentally, of course. Though the shot grazes his
shoulder, her beauty pierces his heart. Sparks fly soon
after when they find themselves dangerously close to a
compromising position. Too inexperienced to understand such
overwhelming emotions, Heath and Julia part ways.
Now, years later, Heath is a high-ranking intelligence
officer, asked to protect his commander’s fiancée, Julia,
while he chases down an elusive spy. Heath quickly regrets
his promise when he meets Julia again–and their mutual
desire still burns hotter than ever. Of course he will
protect her. There is danger in the air. And Heath would
never think of betraying his friend, until he learns that
Julia herself has been betrayed. Suddenly seduction
Boscastle style is the name of the game. Yet Julia has a
trick or two up her own sleeve–and is determined to be a
player, and not a mere pawn, in his wicked game.
