"Hey, I'm one of the good guys."
"Good guys don't steal boats and kidnap women!"
"I didn't steal this vessel. I'm commandeering it. And I'm
not kidnapping you."
"But I deserve to know where I'm being taken."
Normally, Max didn't enjoy intimidating women, but just
because he didn't enjoy it didn't mean he wouldn't if he had
to. "Listen real close," he began, towering over her and
placing his hands on his hips. "I can make thing easy for
you, or I can make them real hard. You can sit back and
enjoy the ride, or you can fight me. And I guarantee if you
fight me, you won't win. Now what's it going to be?"
She didn't say a word. But then her dog--that tiny thing
that she had called "Baby Doll"--propelled itself from her
arms and lunged at him.
Max swore and grabbed the mutt.
"Don't hurt him! Don't hurt Baby!"
Hurt the dog? What about him?
