Romance Historical

She's a liar. She's a con. She's a thief. And God help him, but he'll do anything to keep her safe. Beautiful and conniving, maddening and brilliant, Esther is everything private detective Samuel Brass shouldn't want. Esther knows she's put herself in terrible danger, but nothing will stop her from making amends-not her family's enemies, not old fears, and certainly not the domineering, interfering, and undeniably handsome former officer of the Scotland Yard. Yet whenever he's near, Samuel makes her long for a life that can never be hers...and wish she were worthy of being saved.

Re: A Gift for Guile

I think Sir Harry Valentine would make a good boyfriend material! Love that he makes you laugh and has a sence of humor!

Connor O'Dwyer, love a man that is magic.

Jamie Fraser from the Outlander books would make good
boyfriend material. He's kind and has a sense of honor and
would do ANYTHING for Claire.
(
LaRonda Atchison 2:28am July 7, 2016)

Jamie Fraser is at the top of my list.
(
Janie McGaugh 1:28pm July 7, 2016)

Roarke from the In Death series. Love sexy accents!!!!
(
Teresa Ward 9:44pm July 7, 2016)

Thief Takers sounds really good!

Gideon..I like a guy with a good sense of humor.
(
Jackie Wisherd 1:28am July 8, 2016)

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy ;) Men who are animal lovers and love
kids :) Someone who is respectful, kind, generous, good
sense of humor...Best of luck to everyone

Gabriel Allon is my favorite since he is a man with strength
and conviction.

Harry Rutledge would be my guy ! He's a fixer-upper and smart . I like a man that can do most of the repairs around the house and knows what you need also , he wants to make me happy .

(
Joy Isley 12:43pm July 8, 2016)

A man with a sense of humor, not to mention tall dark and
handsome like Roark & Mr. Darcy!
(
Sharon Shearouse 1:53pm July 8, 2016)

Roark is my favorite good boyfriend material. He knows when to push and when to back off. I couldn't resist his Irish accent and that he could buy anything.
(
Kai Wong 1:57am July 9, 2016)

Oh, wow. That's a long list of book boyfriend material.
Totally agree with the humor.

I want to add a couple more LK heroes: Cam and Leo from the
Hathaway series. Also the hero in DEVIL IN WINTER is a fave
of mine.

I'm just starting to get my feet wet as far as books from this
era, and am about ankle-deep, so forgive me for my choice. I
think that Ranger, from the Janet Evanovich series would actually
make a pretty good boyfriend. He's attentive, has money,
servants to take care of your every need, and he knows how to
take care of a woman!! He's also supposed to be easy on the
eyes, and is very good and protecting a woman if she needs it.
Congratulations on your latest book, and I'm looking forward to
reading it!!

I'm afraid they change as often as I start a new book. In which
case I have no favorite.
(
Nancy Luebke 4:57pm July 10, 2016)

I'd have to say Sherlock Holmes. He's certainly not the marrying kind but I think he'd make a really fun boyfriend.
(
Nancy Marcho 6:11pm July 10, 2016)

someone kind and with a good sense of humor
(
Diane Sallans 9:52pm July 11, 2016)

Wow, I'd have to say every man in every romance novel I have read so far!
(
Lily Shah 10:24am July 12, 2016)

Sir Harry Valentine all the way!!!!
