Romance Historical

The third sizzling novel in New York Times bestselling author Karen Hawkins’s Duchess Diaries series, featuring three unruly sisters and their headstrong godmother with a penchant for matchmaking.

Reclusive Viscount Kirk, horribly scarred by a tragic accident that stole the life of his beloved first wife, is a man defined by fury. For years he’s eschewed society, growing abrupt and curmudgeonly. But now, when he’d given up on life, he’s fallen madly in love with the refreshingly naive daughter of his neighbor, dainty and charming Dahlia Balfour. Desperate to win her attention, Kirk calls in a favor from the Duchess of Roxburghe and asks that she transform him into a fashionable suitor for Dahlia’s hand. But what’s easy to change on the outside, isn’t as easy to change on the inside…

Dahlia’s always dreamed of a fairytale romance. Although Viscount Kirk is only seven years her senior, because of his cantankerous ways and lack of social graces she thinks of him as her “older neighbor,” and is blissfully unaware that he sees her as anything other than an acquaintance. She is shocked to see him at the duchess’s grand house party, trying to fit with the very societal rules he so frequently mocks. Surprised by his attention, irritated at his bald honesty, and intrigued that he finds her worth the effort, Dahlia regards Kirk as the opposite of Prince Charming. Without the pretty words and grand gestures she yearns for, can true love find its way into her unwilling heart?

The library, the library, THE LIBRARY! Ahem. But, yeah. The library.
;-)
(Chelsea Brooks 1:12am September 18, 2013)

Sounds like one I REALLY want to read!!!!!!!!
(
Debbie Rudder 4:19am September 18, 2013)

I always enjoy your books and would love to win one!
(
Betty Hamilton 7:39am September 18, 2013)

(
Sharon Extine 8:00am September 18, 2013)

and godmothers
(
Denise Smith 8:11am September 18, 2013)

Choices, choices. I do love the library scene, but a puppy in a basket? I'll choose C.
(
G S Moch 9:10am September 18, 2013)

I love the first book in the series. :0 Really enjoy how sassy the heroine is.

May Pau 9:18am September 18, 2013)

No doubt about it - the LIBRARY!!! Love & Literature. But the puppy in the basket and a picnic runs a CLOSE second. Your book sounds fabulous and I would LOVE to win a copy. Thanks for the chance. Best of luck with it.
(
Nancy Reynolds 9:20am September 18, 2013)

Give me the puppy! That way if things don't go right, I have
a friend to whom I can tell my troubles.
(
Ruth Hill 9:24am September 18, 2013)

Picnic by a lake - I've gone digital with the library!
(
Beth Elder 9:50am September 18, 2013)

Since the library has been overdone, I think I would have to choose the puppy. This way you would always have a remembrance of the occasion, as well as a best friend. As far as the emeralds, diamonds, and rubies, those would come later if everything went well!! I love the story line of your book, and am looking forward to reading your book!! The cover is beautifully done, too!! Congratulations on a book that I'm sure will do very well!!
(
Peggy Roberson 10:09am September 18, 2013)

Congrats on new book!
(
Vicki Hancock 10:35am September 18, 2013)

I like romance stories based or inspired by fairytales.
(
Cecilia Rodriguez 11:30am September 18, 2013)

Library! But I would definitely take the Diamonds (or emeralds or sapphires etc) :)
(
Kylan Alexander 12:10pm September 18, 2013)

The puppy is a close second, but I fear, I too, am a library
girl!
(
Marguerite Guinn 12:15pm September 18, 2013)

It would be awesome to win! :)
(
Marion Horton 12:25pm September 18, 2013)

The library as long as it wasn't a science or a foreign languages library. I'm not good at science and only speak one language.
(
Laura Gullickson 1:20pm September 18, 2013)

How did Prince say it..."If I gave you diamonds and pearls,
would u be a happy boy or a girl.....". I would be such a Happy girl!
(
Melinda Jiles 1:38pm September 18, 2013)

I take the Library everytime!!!!
I love your books, thanks for the fantastic giveaway.

I love audiobooks 'cause I can do my chores and not lose "book time"!
(
Kimberley Coover 2:23pm September 18, 2013)

Fantastic giveaway!
(
LeeAnne Hardin 3:25pm September 18, 2013)

Thanks, guys! I do love a good fairytale. And in this one, BOTh my hero and heroine had something to learn about both love, and their own desires, which was fun to write.
(
Karen Hawkins 3:59pm September 18, 2013)

I would definitely take the 2 story library. :) Thanks for the
giveaway.
(
Janice Unger 4:48pm September 18, 2013)

A romantic gesture would depend on the man giving for me. If it was my husband it
wouldn't be a dance or a puppy, he knows I don't know how to dance or need another
"kid". If he gave me jewelry that I liked (not his likes) or a trip to Paris, I could
go for that ;-) Thanks for the giveaway! Love your stories and glad you found Hot Cop
=)
(
Lenna Hendershott 5:32pm September 18, 2013)

I'd definitely take the two story library! I already have enough books to fill half
of it! (If I could afford to, and had the space, I'd have 3 times as many. lol)
Can't wait to read this book! I love fairy tale themed romances!
(
Becca Luman 7:05pm September 18, 2013)

Oh absolutely the library...a man after my own heart...and
mind! I would feel like he really loved me and knew what
would be perfect for me.
(
Brooke Showalter 7:54pm September 18, 2013)

I love all your books and look forward to this one as well. Thanks so much!!!
(
Bonnie Capuano 7:57pm September 18, 2013)

I love reading your books and look forward to their release!
(
Jeanne Davis 8:37pm September 18, 2013)

I cannot believe that you referenced Disney's Beauty and the Beast! My all time favorite Disney movie! I always identified with Belle because she spoke French, loved books, especially when no one else cared (the scene where she's raving about a book and sheep starts eating it is a classic), and she married a beast. I've been known to tease my husband that that is him to a tee. :-)
(
Marcia Berbeza 8:38pm September 18, 2013)

I'd go with the two-story library any day!
(
Janie McGaugh 8:44pm September 18, 2013)

C)A puppy in a basket and a picnic by the lake, and if everything goes great I would get the two-story library later. Thank you for this chance to win one of your books they sound wonderful and look forward to reading one or more. The Best to You Always.
(
Esther Somorai 9:57pm September 18, 2013)

Love reading your books. Book sounds great. Thanks for a chance to win.
(
Linda Hall 10:29pm September 18, 2013)

The library and the puppy!
(
Mary C 11:34pm September 18, 2013)

Wow, Congrats on your new book: HOW TO PURSUE A PRINCESS. I
love the book cover too! I would have to answer C) A puppy
in a basket, and a picnic by a lake; since I was raised on a
farm in Kansas and always had dogs and animals and we would
go to our cabin at Cedar Bluff Lake. We have 4 dogs
currently; Chawinnies; Chihuahua/Dachsunds. Our Puppies are
so sweet. I would love to win and read your book this Fall.
Thank You very much. Cecilia CECE
(
Cecilia Dunbar Hernandez 11:50pm September 18, 2013)

The puppy for me---I'm an animal lover through and through.
(
Sue Farrell 5:05pm September 19, 2013)

Library all the way, although options a and b certainly sound
like fun.
(
Janet Martin 6:52pm September 19, 2013)

I would want it all. That would change her thoughts on her neighbor. I would like to win this book and find out how it works out. A book of real interest for most I would think. Will be waiting to see who wins. Good luck all. Joyce
(
Joyce Yanney 7:39pm September 19, 2013)

The library! Just like Belle received in Beauty and the Beast.
(
Sharyn Lewis 9:04pm September 19, 2013)

The library of course. What could be better.
(
Larena Hubble 11:39pm September 19, 2013)

I read anything that has the Beauty and the Beast theme. This fairy tale is my favorite.
(
Kai Wong 12:01pm September 20, 2013)

It's between the puppy and the library.
(
Maureen Emmons 1:09pm September 20, 2013)

The Library. LOL
(
Marcy Shuler 5:11pm September 20, 2013)

Love to win. Would enjoy reading your book. Please enter me in your contest.
(
Joyce Yanney 3:29am September 21, 2013)

I'd probably go for either the puppy and picnic or a library filled with books I would want to read.
(
Carol Woodruff 11:19am September 21, 2013)

love to win.
