Sun, a Dame of the Opal Order, relishes her physical and sexual dominance over men, yet she is tormented by memories of the attack that destroyed her village when she was a child. Seeking revenge, she travels to the land of Upper Kenna to finally confront the man who nearly ruined her life. Instead she finds his son, a stunningly handsome Priest in Waiting who arouses her like no man ever has before.
Mica has spent the past several years atoning for sins committed during his time as a general. In spite of Dame Sunβs tough veneer, her courage and kindness touch Micaβs heart as much as her beauty enflames his desire.
Against Sunβs better judgment, the passion raging between her and Mica turns to love, but the two have dark secrets that make sharing a life together impossible.
