He won't hesitate to put his life on the line…but will he
ever risk his heart?
Falling for Justice Garrett was a
high point in Patience McGraw's otherwise awkward
adolescence. Even after he disappeared, Patience never
forgot the boy who captured her heart. Now he's back in
Fool's Gold, California, and her passion for him is as
strong as ever. But how can she trust that he won't abandon
her again—and her daughter, too?
When bodyguard
Justice Garrett was a young man, witness protection brought
him to this idyllic town and he never forgot its warmth, or
the sweet beauty of his childhood friend. He's returned to
open a defense academy, and the Patience he once knew is all
grown up. He can't resist her smile, or her curves. But
Justice's past doesn't make him husband, or father,
material.
Patience and Justice think they'll succumb
to just one kiss… Then one more… Okay, just one night
together. But they might learn that falling in love is
beyond anyone's control.
I love this series can't wait to read this one. Penney (Penney Wilfort 4:35am May 30, 2013)
I loved this book! Susan's new addition to her Fool's Gold series, Just One Kiss, will keep you turning the pages with characters that make you care and keep you laughing, cheering, sighing and even drop a tear or two. Can't wait for the next one. (Brenda Rumsey 8:08am May 30, 2013)
Just One Kiss was fabulous! I l LOVED IT! It is a great book to start off our summer reading! Justice and Patience match perfectly with each other and in the Fool's Gold town. The struggles each face with their families we can find pieces we relate with allowing us closer to the characters in the book. Susan Mallery delivers again! This book is a must read on everyone's summer reading list! Enjoy! (Shannon Horton 9:47am May 30, 2013)
Love Susan Mallery. Loved this story. Patience and Justice are easy to care for and the people surrounding them are entertaining as well. Everyone should get a chance to read a story that makes you smile. (Patsy Treybal 9:53am May 30, 2013)

I love returning to Fool's Gold! Susan starts summer off with a sizzle! Her writing is enchanting and enticing. She draws readers in with characters that are not only likeable but loveable as well. (Kerri Wenzel 2:54pm May 30, 2013)
The cover alone just draws your attention to it. Vibrant, full of life. Looking sweet and sexy doesn't hurt either. The story inside the book makes it come to life. (Jeanette Blanco 11:58pm May 30, 2013)
What a great read, you think the book is a typical romance book. that's the furthest thing with all the twists and turns. And just when you think you have it figured out, you do not. keeps you on your toes and so enjoyed this one! (Julie Barett 4:51pm May 31, 2013)
Susan Mallery's "Fool's Gold" series is wonderful! The characters make you laugh, smile and sigh!! (Dee Myers 10:53am June 1, 2013)

Always love returning to Fool's Gold. It is like returning home!! I love starting my summer reading a new Fool's Gold book!! I love the relationship between Patience & Justice. I love how that Susan has a character with MS. I am looking forward to the other 2 new Fool's Gold books! (Melissa G 9:29pm June 2, 2013)
book that ticket now for a trip to Japan to visit my son who's been teaching for three years on a small island 2 hours by ferry from the mainland! Give two very large gifts to the college of two of my kids and the school system of all three. Invest the remainder in order to grow that money for more donations - it's so much fun to be a fairy godmother! (Beth Fuller 1:10pm June 15, 2013)
Share with my 5 adult children so they can use it for their kids. (Leona Olson 1:26pm June 15, 2013)
After losing my house and belongings not that long ago, there are things that my Husband and I could really use at the moment. I think that I would replace these items first. I also know of a couple of people who are in dire straights, so I would pass along some money to them to help them out, too!! The rest of the money I would put in savings - part in a CD, or something to that effect so it wouldn't be touched for a while, and the rest in savings. There is no way that I would "blow it," since I would like to have a cushion to live on for a while, should something happen down the line. Congratulations on your latest book!! I would love to read it, and it sounds like it's shaped up to be a great Summer read!! (Peggy Roberson 2:24pm June 15, 2013)
Hmmm...would likely use it on the most needed of the house repairs, some of the kids college costs and my husbands and my retirement fund. (G. Bisbjerg 2:46pm June 15, 2013)
I would take a really really nice vacation and take not only my husband and son but extended family as well so we can all enjoy each other, reminisce about the old days and remember mom and dad who are no longer with us. Luckily my son is through college already and it's all been paid, no mortgage on our house and we're nearing retirement with a nice nest egg. (JoAnne Weiss 2:51pm June 15, 2013)
I would use it towards home repairs much needed (new roof, new bathroom counter and sink, water heater, new driveway, new garage doors, new front window that leaks, etc.) All things put off that I couldn't afford. I would also give some to my grown children. My car is 13 yrs. old, so I'd probably also get newer used car. I enjoy all your books that I've read. I haven't read them all yet (there are so many)! I just got Three Sisters, so that's my next read. (Linda Luinstra 3:31pm June 15, 2013)
Hmmm, pay my bills... set some away for my little nephew for college... give my parents some to take a vacation... treat myself to some yummy books! (Colleen Conklin 4:34pm June 15, 2013)
Since it's just the 2 of us, we'd pay of the mortgage and then invest the rest for retirement. (Cate Sparks 6:14pm June 15, 2013)
I would help my kids pay off their college student loans and then invest for our retirement. (Shari Bartholomew 7:32pm June 15, 2013)
Open my own photography studio!!! (Shannon Ferguson 7:38pm June 15, 2013)
Beth, It really is fun to be a fairy godmother, to have money set aside to give to the causes that mean the most to you. Good idea, to put some of the money away so you can be generous with the interest you earn! (Susan Mallery 9:16pm June 15, 2013)
Leona, that's so nice! Your kids and grandkids are lucky to have you. (Susan Mallery 9:17pm June 15, 2013)
I'm so sorry to hear you lost your house and belongings, Peggy! (((HUGS))) (Susan Mallery 9:17pm June 15, 2013)
I seem to be having some problems posting tonight, so I'm going to stop here. But thank you so much, everyone, for your thoughtful comments. I hope you'll love JUST ONE KISS! Watch for TWO OF A KIND on June 25! (Susan Mallery 11:03pm June 15, 2013)
Pay the bills. Get a newer vehicle. Go to see my 3 yr old gson in California. Probably save most of the rest for emergencies. (Penny Mettert 4:59am June 16, 2013)
I believe in donating some, make investments for the future - that way I could have the interest to play with - I know that is boring, but the future is never certain. (Carla Carlson 1:13pm June 16, 2013)
I would take a couple of trips that I have always dreamed of, Australia is one of them, and save the rest for retirement. (Annetta Sweetko 8:50pm June 16, 2013)
I would put the money toward college for my two children. It would be fun to take a trip with my husband and children, too. We love NYC!!! (Linda Brennan 9:05pm June 18, 2013)
I'd use money to buy yarn, get others together, or i could teach them how to knit/crochet and we could make hats and scarves for those who need them.
Julie (Julie Barett 11:38am June 19, 2013)
Pay off our bills, move South!! Buy more books especially Susan Mallery!! (Melissa G 9:34pm June 23, 2013)
I love the town of Fools Gold So cool! Cant wait for the next book! (Shannon Cross 11:59am June 30, 2013)
I would pay off a bill, or maybe just buy myself something. Love all of your books. Always happy to see when a new one is coming out (Sharon Salituro 8:02am July 2, 2013)
I would love to redo my kitchen, buy some farmland, and open a book shop and I don't know if that could be done on a $100,000 but I like the dream!! Really loved "Just One Kiss", Patience even had a business plan, she was definitely prepared for ownership! (Dee Myers 9:53am July 2, 2013)
I would probably spend it on more books! :-) I loved this book - Patience and Justice are a great couple. (Lesley Lindsey 2:14pm August 11, 2013)
