Romance Historical

This historical fiction follows Kathleen O'Neill from her roots in Ireland in the early 1800s through her voyage across the ocean when she meets and marries Joseph Harrison. What begins as a typical love story slowly changes as "the darkening" comes over Joseph. At first, the circuit-riding preacher, Rev. Tobias Glenn, provides help and comfort, but that, too, changes. Tagedy overtakes the family as they travel with Joseph who continues to try and escape the anguish that ensnares him. Kathleen struggles to find her strength through family, faith, and her strong sense of place, and provides a lesson for all of us in what she learns.
