Non-Fiction Memoir
Lynn Kohlman has had one of the most varied and successful careers in the contemporary fashion industry. She began as a fashion model in the late sixties, appearing on covers of all the major fashion bibles, as well as advertising campaigns for designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Kenzo, and Missoni. In the mid-seventies, while working as a design assistant for Perry Ellis, her own photographs of male models attracted the attention of Andy Warhol. Warhol invited Lynn to shoot for his groundbreaking Interview magazine, which lead to a successful stint taking photographs for magazines such as American and Italian Vogue, GQ and Glamour, and ad campaigns for major fashion houses. In 1989, she was hired as the Fashion Director for the Donna Karan Company, and later helped Tommy Hillfiger launch his women's wear line. In 2002, Lynn was faced with her greatest challenge yet: being diagnosed with cancer. Facing the setback with her signature style, creativity, and humor, Lynn has documented her struggle in this powerful visual chronicle. Lynn: Front to Back is compelling, inspiring, and moving account of this incredible woman's intimate journey.
