Published posthumously in 1973, Striding Folly included three previously uncollected short stories, all featuring Lord Peter Wimsey.
The contents are as follows:
Striding Folly The Haunted Policeman Talboys
These tales represent the last known Wimsey titles to come for Dorothy L Sayers' pen (with the possible exception of Thrones, Dominations). While 'Striding Folly' is a conventional Wimsey tale, 'The Haunted Policeman' takes place on the eve of the birth of Wimsey's first son. 'Talboys' projects the drama some seven years into the future, at which time there are three male products of the Wimsey/Vane collaboration; Bredon, Roger, Paul. 'Talboys' also features Mr Puffet, whose memorable appearance in Busman's Honeymoon made him prime candidate for a reoccurring role. In this final tale, the theft of Mr Puffet's peaches is the subject of investigation, and behaviour of a guest at Talboys called Miss Quirk is one of castigation.
