Laura Caldwell is a former civil trial attorney and the celebrated author of Long Way Home, a compelling nonfiction work about a young man who spent nearly six years in a Cook County cell awaiting trial and the two attorneys whose pro bono work changed his life. Caldwell, now a professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, is also founder and director of a unique humanitarian organization called Life After Innocence. This project advocates for exonerees, innocent people who were wrongfully imprisoned, helping them re-enter society and reclaim their rights.
A prolific writer, she has written 14 fiction novels so far, the latest one being The Dog Park. Caldwell has been published in over 25 countries and translated into more than 13 languages.
