Megan Sawyer, an organic farmer in the small town of Winsome
is trying to expand her business for the winter months ahead
when she happens upon a stranded motorist. Megan isn't
about to leave the young woman stuck in the heavy snow and
ice coming down, especially once she realizes Becca Fox is
the niece of a local merchant in Winsome. Becca is visiting
her aunt, Merry Chance, for the holidays and hopes to expand
her small business making love potions. Things quickly go
awry, however, and now Becca's estranged father is dead and
the suspect list is growing. Can Megan uncover who the
murderer is before it hits too close to home?
Megan is the kind of cozy mystery heroine I love. She's
intelligent, down to earth, inquisitive, and caring. Her
relationship with her grandmother, Bonnie "Bibi" Birch is
endearing as we get glimpses into Megan's life growing up.
I like that Megan's life hasn't been a storybook perfect
life and instead, she's dealt with heartbreaks, including
her mother's abandonment of her. Wendy Tyson keeps readers
engaged in this underlying storyline through Megan's
somewhat strained relationship with her Aunt Sarah.
And oh, who can't help but love a good cozy mystery that
involves food and books? SEEDS OF REVENGE adds a twist to
the storyline when Megan has to read some of her Aunt
Sarah's mystery thrillers to help uncover exactly what is
going on in Winsome. Wendy Tyson does a great job at
crafting a mystery that is intriguing as well as
surprisingly complex.
SEEDS OF REVENGE is the third book in the Greenhouse
Mystery series and wow, this series only gets better
with each new installment! Wendy Tyson does a marvelous job
at creating characters who are multidimensional, making it
easy for new readers to the series to jump right in and
appreciate the storyline. I can't wait to see where Wendy
Tyson has in store for Megan, Denver, Bibi and the town of
Winsome! If you love an entertaining and clever cozy mystery
coupled with great characters and a nice glimpse into the
world of organic farming, don't hesitate to give SEEDS OF
REVENGE a try.
