In WRAPPED AND STRAPPED, the seventh book of the Blacktop Cowboys
series, Lorelei James pits together the fun-loving Harlow Pratt and grumpy cattle
ranch foreman, Hugh Pritchett. After some devastating news, Harlow returns to
encounter Hugh standing over her father in the hospital. Now that she is there, she
wants Hugh to leave, thus setting the tone for the rest of the story.
Hugh has always been a little prickly to Harlow, but for whatever reason,
he's now flirting with her. This throws Harlow off. When they are forced to work
together at Split Rock Ranch and Resort, that's when things get a little crazy.
Lorelei James is no stranger to writing enemies-to-lovers stories. Hugh and
Harlow have their differences but it's not to the point where they are
incompatible. So as James explores their romance, it really becomes a
matter of making sure their emotions build in a realistic way. And I think
the author did an excellent job of this.
WRAPPED AND STRAPPED is nothing really new or different from what we've seen
from this author before. As hot as it is, WRAPPED AND STRAPPED is
also quite safe. As a result, it wasn't my favorite in the Blacktop Cowboys
series. However, if you have a cowboy fetish, there is no one else who writes
cowboys better than Lorelei James!
In the new Blacktop Cowboys Novel from the New York Times bestselling author of HILLBILLY ROCKSTAR strange bedfellows find common ground after the lights go down…
Flower child, vegetarian and humanitarian Harlow Pratt and gruff and strapping cattle ranch foreman Hugh Pritchett have been taunting each other for years. Hugh thinks she’s nothing but a spoiled rich girl, and he’s had enough of that life with his ex-wife. Harlow thinks Hugh is an ill-mannered trouble- maker who wouldn't know fun if it bit him on his tight denim-clad butt.
When they’re forced together at the Split Rock Ranch and Resort, everything changes. They might be polar opposites, but working out their differences skin to skin, in the dark, seems to help their incompatibility a lot. But when trouble from both their pasts comes calling, Harlow and Hugh have no one else to lean on. Can they trust one another enough to make it through the hard times together… or will their tentative truce fall apart?
