Bee is having disturbing nightmares again, but this time
they're different: they still reflect her fear of
abandonment, but now they involve Hawke. But he's there,
he is not going anywhere; the fires of passion between
Bee and her biker burn brighter than ever, their bond is
solidifying, and her billionaire is nearly forgotten. But
Bee is stuck inside the apartment she shares with Hawke
because reporters are still hunting her down since the
unfortunate incident at Nicolas' club. Bee's mother will
be staying with Hawke's family, but neither Bee nor her
mother will be able to work for a little while, which
means their money worries are getting even worse.
An impromptu visitor scares the daylights out of Bee, who
prompts her to wonder if she is good enough for Hawke, if
she really belongs in his world, in anyone's world.
Friendly, the mysterious texter, has sent another sinful
reward for a mission well accomplished, but the
extravagant gifts are losing their lustre since Bee has
resigned herself that her treasures are temporary, that
they will have to be sold to make her business a success.
Out of the blue, Bee also receives a small gift from
another friend. Meanwhile Cyndi is thinking of moving to
LA with Cole, and asks Bee to go along with her.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. In SINFUL REWARDS 9,
Cynthia Sax takes us through the plethora of emotions as
Bee experiences them: from fear and doubt, passion and
release, to contentment and the dawning of new hope. Ms.
Sax paints Bee's thoughts and feelings so expertly that
the tone of the book varies according to what Bee is
experiencing: the claustrophobic darkness at the
beginning slowly gives way to freedom and light as timid
rays of hope creep in Bee's mind. Permanence may come in
various forms, and maybe nothing is set in stone: Bee the
born worrier is being challenged from all sides, things
have been set in motion, she tries to look towards the
future, but sometimes she cannot see the forest for the
trees. Her stubbed big toe perfectly exemplifies that
matter: the fashionista is floored, but in the grand
scheme to things, it's a passing annoyance. And letting
her bad girl loose is becoming easier; it frees her mind,
it liberates her soul; her inhibitions are not sexual.
Bee's horizon is moving, her perspective seems to always
be changing; she has a hard time dealing with the fact
that maybe the wrong decision could be the right one. Bee
has always known she was resilient, but is it enough for
her to seize the day?
No longer torn between the billionaire and the biker, Bee has claimed her man, branding his skin with her scent, his soul with her care. He’s her ideal choice, building passion within her she didn’t know existed, supporting her dreams, and willing to do anything for her. But is she the ideal choice for him? An early-morning surprise attack and the arrival of a beautiful, witty, and regrettably nice rival make Bee question her decision. Does she step aside, forgoing her forever to ensure her man’s survival, or does she risk his life and her heart on love?
