The first in a new mystery series, SNOW WAY OUT by
Christine Husom is
everything I love in a cozy mystery. The characters are a
close group that looks
out for each other even in the darkest of hours. Being the
first in the Snow Globe
Shop Mystery I would say it is off to a magnificent
start. Christine Husom's
unique storyline using characters that own a snow globe
shop and joint coffee
shop is one that is different than most I have read and it
works.
Camryn Brooks owns a snow globe shop that is jointed with
her close
friend, Pinky's coffee shop. With Camryn's knack of being
the center of attention
from the past, nothing changes when she comes back to her
hometown to start
her life new. Running her shop and sharing her love for
snow globes she and her
friends host a snow globe making class one evening. Before
the night is through,
she finds a globe with an interesting scene left behind
from the class. As she
travels home, she spots the same scene in the park, which
turns out to be a
murder scene that she stumbled upon. With her discovery
this has put Camryn in
the limelight again and everyone wants the scoop on what
happened. Everyone
has a theory, however, Camryn does a little investigation
herself against the chief
of police and her friend's advice.
With such fun characters that even have you laughing at
times it is easy to
keep up with and not get confused. I love mysteries with
strong characters and
plot. Christine Husom will be one author that I will
continue to read. I enjoyed
this mystery so much that I cannot wait until the next
one.
SNOW WAY OUT by
Christine Husom is an absolute delightful story to cozy up
on the couch to!
Curio shop manager Camryn Brooks thought she’d seen every
kind of snow globe—until she saw one depicting a crime
scene…
Ever since she was a child, Cami has loved the sparkling
beauty of snow globes, and now, she sells them. In fact,
they’re so popular, Cami and her friend—coffee shop owner
Alice “Pinky” Nelson—are hosting a snow globe making
class.
After the flurry of activity has ended and everyone has
gone off with their own handmade snow globes, Cami spots a
new globe left behind on a shelf, featuring an odd tableau
—a man sleeping on a park bench.
On her way home, she drifts through the town park and is
shaken to come upon the scene from the globe—a man sitting
on a bench. But he isn’t sleeping—he has a knife in his
back. When the police arrive, it’s clear they consider
Cami a little flaky and possibly a suspect. After her
friends also come under suspicion, Cami starts plowing
through clues to find the cold-blooded backstabber—before
someone else gets iced…
