Lorna Barrett's cozy mystery, NOT THE KILLING TYPE was a
delight to read. Even
if you pick this one up before reading the prior novels in
the series you can easily
figure out everyone's place in the town and how they are
all so connected. I loved
all the surprises that Barrett packed into this storyline.
It kept me captivated
throughout the novel. It's not a wonder why Barrett is one
of New York Times
Bestselling Authors.
In this Booktown Mystery, Tricia's sister Angelica
decided to run for
President for the town's Chamber of Commerce. However, one
of her opponents,
Stan Berry turns up murdered and Tricia finds the body.
Everyone in the Inn
during the murder is considered a suspect until Chief
Baker can solve the case.
Anyone could have had a motive since Berry had not made
many of the people in
the town happy with him. Tricia and Angelica dig up clues
of their own but find
out that there are secrets hidden with many of the people
they thought they
knew. On top of everything else, the sisters are having
Thanksgiving Day, Black
Friday, and a wedding that Saturday to be prepared for
during all the other
excitements.
I highly recommend NOT THE KILLING TYPE written by Lorna
Barrett if you
love cozy mysteries! It has all the components that you
would look for in such
a novel. The close friendships in a small town, along with
the some quirky
characters as well that brings it to life. I really
enjoyed her characters. Let's not
forget the mystery that leaves you trying to piece
together the clues to see if you
can guess who did it. You know you have a great novel when
the end is a total
surprise!
