Third time is certainly a charm for Ms. Gerard's newest book in The Bodyguard series. Filled with gripping intensity, this story follows Ethan Garrett as he tries to rescue and keep safe his ex-wife after she's captured in the Philippines. That their mutual dangerous occupations stir his desire to keep Darcy Prescott safe (even when she wasn't his wife) has long been a bone of contention between them. But now it's the very characteristic on which she pins her hope for life and happiness beyond her current horrifying situation.

Throughout the book, Ethan and Darcy battle with whom they can trust and how far they can trust each other, even in situations where their lives are not constantly threatened.

Despite the adventure and intrigue of the first two books (TO THE EDGE and TO THE LIMIT), TO THE BRINK demonstrates deeper levels of suspense and excitement. Readers of her previous books will enjoy the familiar faces from E.D.E.N. and meeting some new characters, while novice readers to Gerard's world will enjoy the entire experience.
