Gwendolyn Jones writes stories for tabloids but doesn't believe any of it. She's even interviewed someone who had claimed to be a vampire for heavens sake but the stories pay the bills. It was after meeting up with someone who claimed to have proof of the existence of werewolves that she finds herself in trouble. Shortly after getting a flash drive there's a knock and she finds a WOLF AT THE DOOR. In fact there are two of them.
Jacque and Louis LaForge have heard of the drive and have no choice but to go to Gwen and demand its return. And hope like hell she hasn't seen anything that could threaten their little band of werewolves. Things go crazy right away because Jacques immediately realize that even though she is human ... Gwen is his mate. Trouble is Louis feels the same. When Gwen makes a run for it and she is in a wreck, they rescue her and take her to their home.
Gwen has been kidnapped and though at first she fears for her life, she knows deep down that as she has never belonged anywhere ... she belongs here with Jacque and his pack. The more she learns the more she understands their double need for secrecy ... from humans and from their former pack which they had left due to the cruelty none of the men could stomach. When the danger comes to their door, all the pack will do whatever they can to protect her. Will it be enough or will Jacque lose his mate?
WOLF AT THE DOOR is absolutely amazing. N.J. Walters is a writer that can take you into a world and make you not want to leave. When I first picked it up I just planned to read a chapter or two ... I was still reading way into the early hours of the morning. I fell in love with not one, not two ... but five werewolves... the whole of the Salvation Pack. These men will tug at you heart and for me their story almost stole the show from Gwen and Jacque, though that was hot and intriguing too. Gwen has a lot to deal with. She is kidnapped, finds out there really are werewolves and she can never go back home ... but she deals with it in a feisty, courageous way. Jacque is at times the typical alpha and others romantic and tender, especially when he fears he will lose her.
WOLF AT THE DOOR is book one of the Ms. Walter's Salvation Pack series and I can't wait for the next one to come out as there are a number of events that are not quite answered to the reader's satisfaction. You will want to pick this up and wait with me for the next one.
