Sassy Zoe Larkin began her life in a hippie commune and
defied the residents of Barrington's Pass with her wild ways
that gained her a tainted reputation. For 10 years she has
kept to her list in overcoming her nefarious reputation and
fit in as a valued citizen holding an assistant manager's
job at the elegant Alpine Sky Lodge, a ski resort. Zoe is
assigned the duty of encouraging a local saloon owner to
sell his property for the expansion of their new proposed
golf course.
Jason "Jase" Garrett, Rusty Wire Saloon owner and
previous Olympic gold medal winner for skiing, lost all
ambition and the will to succeed due to his guilt at the
death of his best friend, Adam. Pulling out of all
competition he is content to lay back and provide jobs in
his saloon for Jennifer and Russ, Adam's widow and father,
to assuage his guilt. Jase's response to Zoe's offer was a
flat "No". Playing cat and mouse games in trying to
persuade him to sell escalates when a suspicious fire is
started, shots fired and other incidents seeming to lead to
Zoe. Eventually eliminating her as the suspect, Jase has to
admit he is completely aroused by the sexy woman, and Zoe
feels a panty melting lust every time she is around him.
Her attempt at pursuing her boss as her "textbook man" is
ditched as it becomes evident she desires the sexy renegade
instead. The forceful push to sell becomes a matter of life
and death for Jase and he stands to lose everything,
including Zoe.
Strap in for all the excitement and hot sex you can
stand. This fast moving suspenseful tale includes mystery
and sex that is guaranteed to whet your libido. Once I
picked GOLD FIRE, I confess all I could do was read until
I finally turned the last page. Starr Ambrose creates a
tantalizing and exciting story that is sure to capture your
attention. Very well written and a creative story line.
Zoe Larkin is facing the biggest career opportunity of her
life, and she’s not going to let Jase Garrett ruin it for
her. The infuriatingly sexy owner of the Rusty Wire, the
hottest honky-tonk saloon in Barringer’s Pass, flat-out
refuses to sell his bar and its surrounding land to her
employer, the Alpine Sky ski resort. If Zoe can convince the
stubborn cowboy to change his mind, she’ll not only impress
her rich, handsome boss, but maybe—just maybe—people in town
will finally start to take her seriously.
When the Rusty Wire becomes the repeated target of violent
intimidation tactics, though, the spunky redhead’s
meticulous to-do lists and conservative blazers are no
defense against her wild child reputation. The only person
who understands what it takes to forget the past is standing
between her and the future. But is it the future she wants?
Or will Jase’s electric kiss ignite a fire in her heart for
the life she truly desires?
