Gracie Hayes has it all in her professional life; but she doesn't allow time for love or personal connections. She was abandoned as a small child by her mother and has walled off her personal feelings as a defense mechanism. But there is definitely chemistry brewing between Gracie and her boss Hunter Worth. Hunter is the ultimate playboy and Gracie can't imagine what he sees in her or why he would be interested in more than a brief affair.
Sparks fly between Gracie and Hunter at work and they eventually give in to temptation, but Gracie insists it be a one-time only situation. Hunter finds himself in a totally new situation as he realizes he wants more than a brief affair and he tries to win Gracie over. Tragedy strikes and Hunter realizes just how much Gracie means to him and what he'll do to keep her safe.
WORTH THE RISK had a really well fleshed out story -- there was so much more to it than just the love story between Gracie and Hunter. I was fully invested in finding out more about Gracie's past and hoping she could resolve those feelings so she could move forward and have a happy life. This is the second book in the Worth It series.
