"A Clear and Stunning View Revealing the Secrets of Newford"

Promises To Keep
Charles de Lint

When Jilly came to Newford she was a young woman on the edge, in recovery from drug addiction and holding on to normalcy by her fingernails. When she encounters her closest and perhaps only friend from those nightmare days she is led into a world beyond the ordinary and offered a difficult choice.

With PROMISES TO KEEP Charles De Lint tells a tale answering some of the many questions about Newford and about Jilly and how she became the person she is. Jilly appeared in many of the Newford Stories but with an aura of mystery. The backstory of the person she became is covered thoroughly and entertainingly with De Lint's inimitable style. In the process he also reveals many of Newford's secrets while weaving us behind the mundane facade to make clear what makes his world so special. PROMISES TO KEEP, previously published in 2007 is a prequel to De Lint's Newford series.
