Romance Anthology | Romance Paranormal

In Katie MacAlister's Unleashed, a fish and wildlife officer's trip to a local animal shelter to capture a large wild cat that has wandered in becomes much more than she bargained for. The cat is actually a handsome vampire/shapeshifter, who involves Jacintha and her anti-vampire sister, Cora, in helping to foil a nefarious plot to smuggle exotic animals to be hunted - some of whom may actually be people. This sexy and exciting romp will make readers purr with delight.

Cat Scratch Fever, by Connie Brockway, is the story of Dr. Edith Handelman, a brilliant but socially awkward researcher who also owns a cat shelter, and her co-worker, Jim Curran. Jim, a widower with a spoiled young daughter, Chloe, was already attracted to Edith at the office, despite her seemingly stiff demeanor. He is completely smitten when he sees her warmer side at the shelter. As Chloe bonds with the kitties, Jim begins to bond with Edith, who has never really been in a relationship. Will this experiment have a successful result?

Vicki Lewis Thompson brings two former high-school sweethearts back together in A Cat's Game. Jon Ramsey and Kate Archer broke up when his acting talent made him a star at 18 and Kate couldn't deal with life in the public eye. Ten years later, she decides it's safe to be alone with him when she volunteers to manage her sister Maggie's B & B so Maggie can take a well-deserved vacation. (Jon has arranged to be the only guest at the inn once a year to get some privacy and recharge.) She will just give him his privacy, and the two hardly need to see each other. But Darwin, Kate's newly adopted cat, seems to have other ideas, bringing the two of them together - and the sparks begin to fly.

Although these three stories differ in tone and style, they all have the Cupid Cats Shelter in common, a place where the cats seem to be the ones choosing their new owners and there's a little bit of magic in the air. While cat lovers in particular will enjoy these feline-centered tales, they should appeal to any reader looking for some light-hearted romance.
