If the sang froid ex-pat English associate movie producer, Burke Elliott, wasn't in the middle of it himself, he would think that the setting of a snowbound isolated cabin in Montana with a gorgeous American actress and her three month old burping baby has all the makings for a delightful romantic comedy.

As it was, he just felt it had all the makings of being a total disaster or at least, a very unpleasant experience. His boss and long time friend, superstar Fritz Kelleran had made it clear that Burke better not come back to California without Nora Daniels' signature on the contract to star in a new film with him.

Normally, Burke like to control everything in his environment so that everything worked out and he could ensure that everything would be organized and all the details checked off according to his list. So, what was that sticky and smelly thing running down his arm after he held Ashley, Nora's baby, and the only baby he had ever held in his arms with a roomful of strangers laughing at his discomfort?

For her part, Nora had found a snug little cocoon of happiness in this remote, yet beautiful region. She soon knew everyone in Tucker, the small town near the range and relished the feeling of connectedness and family that has eluded her, since Ken, her hot shot restaurateur husband, had abandoned her for other interests when she was pregnant.

But now that Burke was here, she knew things would change. While she enjoyed his comfort and support stemming from their long time friendship, he also made her uncomfortable with his talk of how she was going to support herself in Montana and where her beloved Ashley would go to school and to university. She just loved being with Jenna, Fritz's mother-in-law, and all her new friends and didn't want to break out of this comforting shell. She didn't want to go back, but knew she couldn't stay there forever or could she? So, her strategy was to leave the hard thinking for another day and just keep focusing on the new small world she had made for herself. But, when a huge snowstorm hit with fritz caught in it, the decision came in an unexpected way.

With her sense of realism and fun, Terry McLaughlin has spun a strong and heartwarming story you will not want to put down. You will laugh as Burke explores Ashley's world and feels the magic of her first smile for him and feel Nora's pain as she plays her scenes with great drama and a heart that aches for another with a feeling as strong as her need to nurse her beloved baby. A great read to snuggle up with and enjoy!

SUMMARY

It could be a screenplay—except this is no movie. Film producer Burke Elliot really is snowbound in a remote Montana cabin with his glamorous star. He's here on a mission—to convince Nora Daniels to sign a contract and return with him to Hollywood—and nothing is going to stop him. Not her meddling friends, not the manure-filled snowdrifts, not the lousy cell-phone service. Not even Nora's spit-up-prone bundle of joy.

But while he's "making nice with the talent," the radiant actress and the unexpectedly sweet baby are wreaking havoc with his carefully laid plan. Could "the original iceman" be melting just a little?
