Rory O'Leary has little use for his uncle and aunt's stately Irish manor, which has been his reluctant home since he and his brother were orphaned. When summoned home for a family wedding, he has a brief, heart-stopping meeting with Shannon Cahill, a young peasant woman. When Rory's uncle passes away, his cousin inherits the estate, cutting off all funds and removing Rory and his brother from the only home they know. Rory feels his best option is to leave Ireland.
