I spend most of my time living in the now. The past is best left there and it's hard enough to keep up with the now to try to live in the future. As long as I'm living I figure I'm doing alright!

I think I live in a little of all three. My past is what shape me to who I'm now. If I let go of my past, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I live in the now because there is no guarantee of what the future hold for me. My life could end tomorrow so I need to live every moment of it so I won't have any regrets. I look toward the future because I believe I could be a better person or make a difference in someone's life.

I live for now - life is too short, I have lost a few relatives to cancer and I think this has changed my view of how I look at life for me. For my children I look to there future, my baby girl has just got into University and is looking ahead to that!

I agree with the previous posters :) I mostly live in the present although I have been working on trying to plan a bit better for the future. I try to allow my past to help me in the present by learning from my mistakes, but I'm pretty much moment to moment.

I try to live in the now. Sometime I live in the past, but that is okay, because they say you have to learn from your mistakes. You don't want to forget those, so that way you don't keep making mistakes. I try to just live day to day.

I think I am a definite live in the moment type person. My
family an I travel with my husbands job. We can live in a
place 2-3 months then move and be somewhere over a year. It
drives my family nuts that we fly by the seat of our pants
most of the time. I am a stay at home mom and my goal is to
raise humans that will enhance the world or be a face that
brightens the world instead of adding to the gloom. :)

I try to live in the future, but the past seems to come up and bite me in the (you know where), when I least expect it. Then I have to start at square one again. I never get discouraged, at least I try not to. I just pull myself up from my bootstraps, and that gives me more determination to try harder the next time. I also try not to let anyone get in my way anymore. There was a time where I was a real pushover, but as you get older, you learn a lot of things from experience. Through it all you learn to do things with manners and grace, of course. Otherwise people start calling you names that begin with the letter "B." lol My Mother taught me better than that, and I think that's where I got my strength from. I also got a bit of it from my Father, but even though he was my hero through most of my life, he let me down later in life. That's another story for another day. I enjoyed your posting very much. It was very thought-provoking. I'm also looking forward to reading your book.

I really like your "live for now" philosophy! I sometimes do live in the past when I remember good times from what seems like just the other day. And, I live in the future when I daydream of what I would want for me if i could have whatever my little heart desires. But, honestly, "living for now" is probably the best idea.

I think I delve into all three, but the present is what you make of it. The past is behind, but has a way of snaeking in to remind me of my past actions good or bad or middling. The future is wide open, but needs a bit of structure if you want to aim for a goal or level higher than where you're at. The steps toward the future are unknown yet becoming closer everyday you do something positive for your endeavors. The future is what you make of it.

I have to live in the now, but there are definitely a lot of days when I long for at least a part of the past. I yearn for the days when I was able to concentrate better, had more energy, could stand more "noise/sound" including music, and could remember where I've put my keys, important papers, wallet, etc. You get the drift, I'm sure. I live in the now (the present). Learning from experience and mistakes made in the past, I know I would have and could have done many things differently that would have significantly changed the outcome of things now in my life. Some things I would never change and love to remember the good things from the past and often wish I could go back to re-live those times all over again. It's good to dream about past fond memories and what the future holds. Books, movies, and music are wonderful outlets and enjoyment to our world of living.

I have been known to look backwards and pile up regrets only to realize they take me away from appreciating what I have in my life right now. I am trying to remember that when I made a choice to end a relationship I had pretty good reasons for doing it then and I have just forgotten them. If I am still unhappy with where I currently am I can choose to change it now and move forward to a better future.
