When my Dad was alive we had a tradition of Vodka martinis on Christmas morning. Today we simply raise our coffee cups in memory of him and save the martinis for after supper :-)

So what do you think keeps a relationship in books so fresh? Personality. Everyone is different, so they each bring their own personality to the relationship, and that makes each relationship unique. :-)
