I want a story with great characters and a great plot that immediately draws
me in. I want to become engaged with the characters. I need to feel their
pain, happiness, lust, love, etc.

My husband will eat mostly anything, but let a cucumber or radish come near
his food, he gags and says that his food is no longer edible. Those items are
poisonous.
