What a lovely essay, Kathleen. I've heard the thoughts about winter trees and aliens before, but it's a timeless idea. Thanks for the reminder. My "alone" time involves prayer. In addition to 20-40 minutes of specific prayer time, I'll take a few moments through the day, depending on the needs, for further spiritual communion.
