Romance Contemporary

After her husband has a mid-life crisis affair, Amanda panics. She searches for a way to make the mortgage payments and care for their two teenage children. Her career as a homemaker works against her in the job market. The only thing that distracts Amanda from the mess of her personal life is cleaning her house. While she obsessively scrubs and sanitizes, she daydreams about the year she spent in France before she settled down and got married.

Amanda combines inspiration with desperation and dons a disguise to become Solange, the most sought after and saucy French maid in suburbia. With help from two friends, Amanda launches Maid for You and begins cleaning the homes of her neighbors. If Amanda and her alter ego Solange can stay focused, she might even survive her adventures being single in suburbia.

Wendy Wax delivers hilarious antics of single women who will do anything to protect the men they love. The women all bond at the baseball fields where their boys and men play, but this sports talk isn't laden with testosterone. Delightful characters in disguise keep this quick-paced story moving. If you like Desperate Housewives, you're sure to enjoy this funny romance.

SUMMARY

Amanda’s husband has just traded her in for an affair with a teenybopper. Brooke is a trophy wife collecting dust. And Candace (Don’t call me Candy) has had too many husbands and too little love. What do these three unlikely accomplices have in common besides a Little League team called the Mudhens? A plot to reclaim a little r-e-s-p-e-c- t. And they’re going to do it with a mop and a bucket.

Maid for You starts as a way for Amanda to make enough money to keep the roof over her kids’ heads after her husband splits for his midlife crisis. But when Candace and Brooke join her, it becomes much more. Donning disguises, they enter the homes of those who once spurned them and discover more than just clutter in the closets of their neighbors’ otherwise tidy lives. But when Amanda takes on the job of cleaning the home of the town’s most eligible hunk, someone decides to do her dirty.

Now Amanda, Brooke, and Candace are on a mission to prove that being single in suburbia isn’t a crime–even if it does lead to some irresistible temptations….
