In Harrison's fourth novel, Rachel Morgan, the sassiest,
sexiest bounty hunter in Cincinnati, heads north to rescue
two friends-in-need. Rachel and her pixy partner, Jenks,
make a trip to Michigan to retrieve Jenks' errant son, Jax.
Once there, she finds that her ex- Nick could use a helping
hand as well. The special butt-kicking kind of help that
only Rachel can deliver. Throw Ivy into the mix and you've
got a lethal team.
Typical Nick, he not only gets himself but everyone else
into big trouble when he steals a valuable artifact and
incurs the wrath of an unforgiving pack of Weres. War
between the Vamps and Weres looms if things aren't put to
right. Rachel, being Rachel, isn't always known for her
sound decision-making skills and some of her blunders put
the entire not-so-merry little band in danger both
physically and emotionally.
Strong relationships and sound story arcs characterize this
well-plotted series. Deft character development and
continuity from book to book keep readers happy and coming
back for more. I always count on an enjoyable trip every
time I visit the Hollows, and I haven't been disappointed
yet.
The evil night things that prowl Cincinnati despise witch
and bounty hunter Rachel Morgan. Her new reputation for the
dark arts is turning human and undead heads alike with the
intent to possess, bed, and kill her -- not necessarily in
that order.
Now a mortal lover who abandoned Rachel has returned,
haunted by his secret past. And there are those who covet
what Nick possesses -- savage beasts willing to destroy the
Hollows and everyone in it if necessary.
Forced to keep a low profile or eternally suffer the wrath
of a vengeful demon, Rachel must nevertheless act quickly.
For the pack is gathering for the first time in millennia to
ravage and to rule. And suddenly more than Rachel's soul is
at stake.
