Romance Suspense

Kidnapping...murder...suicide...a ransom note...what a tragedy for a 10-year-old boy to experience. It's been 28 years since his beloved father's death and Hayden Olson returns to Oklahoma to clear his father's name.

Cameron (Cammie) and Hayden were childhood playmates. She was heiress to the Somerton fortune and he was the son of the estate gardener. When she was six years old, Cammie was kidnapped and left in a cold, damp cellar. Hayden's father was found dead in one of the estate guest houses holding a ransom note, a revolver and $500,000 in cash, only a small part of the ransom money.

So many things don't make sense. As he's so often done, Hayden lines up the sequence of events from that horrible day. He's very good at putting puzzles together. All he has to do is find the missing pieces.

Cameron isn't the same person since her rescue 28 years ago. She was so traumatized. Maybe if she can find her end and her beginning, the whispers will stop...the whispers that call to her in her sleep...the whispers of her nightmares.

Hayden and Cameron find a oneness in each other, a sense of peace, a feeling of belonging. As they uncover secrets long buried, they know someone is determined to do great harm to Cameron. Hayden will stop at nothing to keep her safe. He's found his destiny in her, his soul mate, his heart's desire.

This thrilling novel is filled with enough twists and turns, loop-de-loops and spine-chilling suspense to keep you reading all night. Ms. London's suspense thrillers are powerful, edgy, romantic and not to be missed.

SUMMARY

The Heiress and the Hunter

Known as the Somerton heiress, Cameron is wary, because her life has been marred by tragedy. Determined to silence the whispers -- and end the nightmares -- that haunt her, she must uncover the secrets of her past. . . . And then the heiress meets a stranger. With the air of a hunter, big, hard-looking Hayden Olson moves in next door. Has this man been sent to harm her?

On a mission to clear his father's name, Hayden was once the Somerton gardener's son -- and young Cammie's cherished playmate -- and now she's the key to the answers he seeks. But Hayden hadn't expected the heiress's fiery sensuality or his fascination with her. In his arms, Cameron finds unexpected safety and a unique challenge. But can she trust him with her body and not her heart?

When the hunter and the heiress become uneasy lovers, a dormant evil stirs -- one that believes murder is a small price to pay to keep the secrets of the past buried. But whoever is out to harm Cammie hasn't counted on her strength . . . or Hayden's determination to protect her -- at all cost!
