After her grandfather died, Hannah travels in her vintage van that she’s lived in for five years to her newly inherited cottage in North Carolina. Her very large, goofy dog surprises a man on the dock and knocks him into the water. Hannah’s dumbfounded to learn that Simon and she both inherited the cottage. According to the will, they have to live together in the house for three months. After that time, they can explore options to either keep or sell the cottage. However, the decision must be unanimous.
Simon wants to sell the cottage to fund his brother’s health care. Hannah’s eager to put down roots, especially once the community charms her. Hannah and Simon spend their time repairing the cottage and learning more about their grandfathers.
While Hannah’s not a relationship person due to marriage trauma and her van lifestyle, she and Simon can’t ignore the sparks. They start up a flirtation. Can she convince Simon not to sell the house?
THE SUMMER SHARE is a standalone summer romance that will soothe your soul; it’s the perfect summer read. The relationship between Hannah and Simon is full of funny moments (that bat scene), banter, compromises, and understanding. This charming book also shares heartfelt moments, family drama, secrets, and one very large, goofy dog who steals all his scenes. As with most Jenn McKinlay books, I didn’t want this book to end.
