A MERRY LITTLE LIE is this year's Christmas title by author Sarah Morgan. Siblings returning home for their first Christmas with new romantic partners creates a time filled with love, laughter, tensions, dramas and some last-minute merry little lies. All for the benefit of a happy holiday season and family time filled with love and celebrations.

Twins, Rosie and Becky, have been living in London. Rosie is newly married to Becky's ex-work colleague and good friend, Declan. Becky, meanwhile, has confused being separated from her twin with being in love with her husband.

Meanwhile, elder brother Jamie, a doctor in Edinburgh who hasn't dated in a long time, has an announcement.  He is bringing home Haylie, his new girlfriend, for the holiday. The tension between the twins is unspoken, has taken a toll on their relationship and both are suffering this distance and separation in silence. 

While the siblings have their own dramas and excitement to disclose to family, their mother is fussing and worrying to make Christmas a Hallmark moment for her son's new girlfriend. Things are looking more festive than ever, while the mother hen at every turn tries to juggle Christmas prep with her husband's downward spiralling mood in his newly retired status. 

• There's chaos with excitement and secrets bubbling under the surface, with every character going through some drama of their own. I loved the chaos and the confrontations once all the family members are home. 
• The journey to reach home is filled with planning, plotting, cold shoulders and lies being thrown around like confetti. 
• The confrontation and the celebrations are equally fun and exciting. There are little moments between every sibling, with their parents and grandparents, which represent the warmth and wonderful chaos of a family at Christmas time.

I love Sarah's Christmas stories. They provide a wholesome, romantic, chaos-filled, exciting dynamics which make the festivities all the more joyous and sweet at the end of the day.
