Many recipes are preceded by beautifully styled photographs of the food and scenes from New York City. All recipes begin with a paragraph from one of the stories referencing the selected dish that made me want to read that book all over again. The recipes are separated by breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with sides, snacks, desserts, and beverages. The range of gastronomic fare ranged from AutoChef's favorite spaghetti and meatballs to dishes “made” by a supporting character, such as Charlotte’s Orange Snickerdoodles. All dishes result in “from scratch” cooking utilizing mostly common ingredients. Where unique ingredients were recommended, the author specified and noted the other recipes in which they could be used. The instructions appear straightforward for any moderately proficient home cook, including a few recipes containing yeast. What a delightful way for lovers of the series to celebrate with the much-loved characters.
