Hazel’s grandmother urges her to get a job at the local library. There she meets Astrid, Jonathon, and Sophie. It’s a memorable first couple of days. First, there’s a fistfight and later one of the men dies. Then a person who attended game night is murdered. The police arrive at the library looking for answers. They interview all of the staff; all four have something to hide. At first, the co-workers come together to help Astrid after she quickly becomes the primary suspect. It soon becomes clear that these two deaths are connected. All the library workers have a motive. They decide they have no choice but to come together to uncover the real culprit – before their secrets are exposed. The LIBRARIANS is a thriller with many threads woven together. The timeline is non-linear and includes several flashbacks. It’s a little convoluted and a little confusing, but it’s also a very good read. The four main characters all have a POV. The secrets were unexpected and kept me turning the pages. I needed to see how everything turned out. I enjoyed the romances in the story, but more importantly, the friendships stood out. Pencil in time for this book, you won’t regret it.
