Abril Newman is an executive assistant who is looking forward to the renovations on her boss, Gina’s, house being finished so she can stop doing all the extra work she’s been doing for free for the past six months. From watering her plants on the weekends to now house and dog sitting while Gina avoids the renovations by going on vacation, Abril just wants things to go smoothly as she’s just over all the extra work. When Lilith, Gina’s lab, digs up a body, Abril sees all her plans for a quick housesitting gig slowly going up in smoke. Especially when they discover there’s more than one body. Things do perk up a little when the detective who comes to investigate makes Abril’s heart flutter. Crispin Delacort is a homicide detective who doesn’t get a lot of homicides given the quiet area he lives in. When his partner tells him they have a new crime scene, Crispin wasn’t expecting to end up finding his life mate. Now, not only does he have to solve a murder mystery, he also has to figure out how to woo Abril, tell her about immortals and convince her to become his life mate. When it becomes obvious a rogue immortal is involved, Crispin adds keeping Abril safe to his to-do list. With so much happening at the same time, Crispin is going to need some help if he’s going to save the day and get his girl. IMMORTAL BY MORNING, the latest installment in Lynsay Sands' long-running Argeneau series, takes readers on their next romance-fueled immortal adventure. I love the dash of mystery that typically comes with a book in this series. In this case, there’s a house that’s been used as a dumping ground by a rogue immortal. Watching Crispin fumble his way through trying to woo Abril while simultaneously keeping her safe and solving the mystery of the rogue makes for a romping good time. Cameos from a few past favorites just upped the enjoyment factor. Even if you haven’t read this series before, you can dive right in without feeling like you’re missing something. Sands delivers all the humor, heat, thrills and romance I’ve come to expect from her books. Paranormal fans will gobble this one up. It's the perfect read to get into the Halloween mood. Sands delivers another entertaining, steamy adventure with IMMORTAL BY MORNING that will have readers glued to the pages. I can’t wait to see whose escapades we’ll get to read about in the next book.
Being an immortal rogue enforcer is never easy. But when human bones are found buried in a residential garden—and they happen to be discovered by your life mate—things get even more complicated in this latest installment of New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands’s wickedly alluring Argeneau vampire series.
Crispinus Delacort is an immortal rogue enforcer and a homicide detective. But in his quiet city, he’s more likely to be rounding up truant teens than investigating murders. So, when he learns that human bones have been found in the garden of a sprawling rural home, it’s unexpected to say the least.
Abril Newman can’t believe her bad luck when she discovers a body buried on the grounds of her boss’s home, while chasing after Gina’s mischievous lab Lilith. She was just supposed to be house-sitting for a few days! And then Detective Delacort arrives. She knows she shouldn’t be thinking about love when there’s a crime scene outside the door. But ignoring her attraction to gorgeous Crispin is easier said than done.
When Crispin realizes that a rogue is involved, he knows this won’t be a simple investigation. Especially because he’s so distracted by Abril’s presence that all he wants is to kiss her senseless in every room of the manor. But he can woo her, solve the case, and stop a dangerous rogue by morning...right? All in a day’s work.
