Emerson Pierce is a wonderful kindergarten teacher. She loves her work and it shows. The only thing she doesn’t love is the low salary, particularly when she spends her own money making her classroom as inviting as possible. So when her principal and friend ask her to join Petunia Lemon, a skincare company, Emerson agrees to check it out.
The first meeting she attends is a convention, where she becomes so inspired, she signs up. Afterwards, at the hotel bar, she meets Lucas. They have a delicious one-night stand, but the morning after, she learns he’s an investigative reporter looking to take down Petunia Lemon. They have a huge fight and she walks out. She doesn’t think about him again until she discovers he’s the father of one of her students. He and his ex-wife cannot be in the same room without arguing, but their daughter is charming.
After a series of mishaps, it’s clear that Petunia Lemon isn’t going to make money for Emerson. Instead, she’s lost a bunch of money and their guarantees are not easy to obtain. Angry, she turns to Lucas for help. Could they take down the company together?
HOW TO SELL A ROMANCE is a classic Alexa Martin story – lots of chemistry and banter wrapped up in a heart-warming tale. The Petunia Lemon meetings were highly entertaining to read. Lucas and his daughter were charming. This is a perfect vacation read.
