The last thing DEA Special Agent Ethan Masterson expects when his team busts down the door of a suspected drug house is a beautiful very naked she-wolf. But, after a quick apology and getting bitten by said she-wolf, Ethan and his team take down the correct house. His mind is still on the she-wolf, and he decides she is just WHAT A WOLF WANTS in his life.
Charlene Cheswick is shocked when a team of men breaks into her rented house with guns drawn and pointed at her. She was peacefully taking a nice hot shower and there he was… one gorgeous wolf. So, she does the only thing she can think of doing. She shifts and bites him. Thus, the beginning of a beautiful romance.
WHAT A WOLF WANTS is a fantasy romance filled with amazing red wolves and new partners. Ethan is DEA and is heading to retirement – albeit a fake deal as he is going to go undercover to finish the mission of cleaning up the drug gang who caused his parents' deaths. Charlene had moved to the Oregon area after leaving the force as a homicide detective and a not-so-great or perhaps a really not-so-bad ex-boyfriend. The mix-up of the address was supposedly a mistaken detail from an informant but soon they learn the troubles go way deeper than that.
I always enjoy books written by author Terry Spear as they are filled with romance, danger and intrigue but she adds in a sweetness and dialogue that makes it all flow and pull you happily along. If anything I have learned from reading so many of Ms. Spear’s books that you can really expect the unexpected. You would do well to never point the finger at anyone and tell yourself there is the bad guy – because you will most likely be wrong. She will lead you down one path while secretly twisting things to go another way.
To clarify what I mean by sweetness the couples enjoy each other but do not complete the act until they decide to fully mate. I feel that this is a really nice change from page after page of couples hopping into bed after they are introduced. Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with those pages, but it is nice to read other kinds of action and intrigue outside of the bedroom.
WHAT A WOLF WANTS is a fascinating book filled with romance, intrigue, camaraderie, bad guys vs. good guys, surprises and plenty of twists. If you love wolves, you want this book in your hands.
Mission turns meet cute when a handsome Red wolf special agent accidentally breaks down the door to the wrong house. Good thing the she-wolf is interested and happy to help him with his case.
