MURDER AT GULLS NEST is the first in this new cozy mystery series that has started out with a lot of potential! Written by Jess Kidd, the characters are a sweet lively bunch including the main character, Nora Breen, who was a former nun. It is one that will keep you engaged as the storyline is intriguing and delightful, making this mystery hard to put down in this 1954 story.
Nora travels to Gulls Nest to look for her friend who relocated there earlier but just seems to disappear. They kept in touch through letters that suddenly stopped. Nora, being so concerned, left her duties as a nun to find her dear friend. Her friend’s last letter raised some concerns that Nora could not ignore.
No one there knew about Nora’s life before coming to this nice seaside town. It is a place that she thinks she could settle down in. However, a few murders happen leaving Nora on the case to find out what happened.
I am personally looking forward to the next one in this series. MURDER AT GULLS NEST is such an appealing mystery and I really like Nora’s way of probing for answers regardless of who she is talking to. She is a character you will love! Jess Kidd’s new mystery series will be one to get into if you love cozy mysteries. It is easy to read and each character she introduces is an astounding addition to the beginning of what I am sure will be a great series!
From Jess Kidd, the bestselling author of Things in Jars who “is so good it isn’t fair” (Erika Swyler, nationally bestselling author), the first in a cozy mystery series about a former nun who searches for answers in a small seaside town after her pen pal mysteriously disappears.
I believe every one of us at Gulls Nest is concealing some kind of secret.
