THE UNCROWNED KING is the second of author Donna Grant's The Bastard duology and starts where The Bastard King ends. Fans of the Dragon series by Ms. Grant will recognize all of the Kings who are there to fight the Star People from killing off or turning the dragons that were sent there from Earth, into killers.
Derek and Kora have a very uphill battle before them as when Meina took him back she wiped his mind and thought he had snippets of Kora’s voice in his head. He believed she was the one who killed his mate and children. The way she chose to bring him back was a rather dangerous way to do it, but she trusted that the love they shared would help bring him back. You will have to read THE UNCROWNED KING to find out how she did it and how the other Kings, with Rhi and their son Brandr, with other Star People, including Villette (the Star Person fans love to hate) fight for Zora.
Fans of the Dragon series will have no problem following along with the many characters who are in THE UNCROWNED KING but for new readers it might be advised to read THE BASTARD KING first. Though this is not absolutely necessary as Ms. Grant does a good job of giving readers enough background information to know who is who to enjoy this amazing read.
THE UNCROWNED KING is fast paced, filled with love, danger, intrigue and a lot of action as Kora and Derek fight their way to each other – to enjoy the much-earned happiness. I do have a bit of a spoiler, you will have to read how it happens, but Derek does not remain uncrowned.
