This was a great mystery surrounding multiple deaths of people who don't seem to know each other, but they are murdered the same way. There were plenty of heart-pounding moments. I really enjoyed finding out whodunit in this one.

Red poppies covered the body when Matt Costa and Kara Quinn from the FBI mobile unit were dispatched. Then a second body is found, killed in the same way, on the opposite side of the country. Detective Kara Quinn in Oregon and Special Agent Matt Costa in Virginia compare notes and try to find the connection. Finding Riley Pierce, James' best friend, is pivotal to the investigation. She knows every victim. She was raised not to trust the police. Can they convince her to tell them everything she knows about Havenwood and who the killer might be?

I absolutely love this series. Matt Costa is such an incredible character that seems to grow throughout the series. Kara Quinn is also a great addition to these books. Alison does such an amazing job at explaining the scene that the reader really feels like they are there. I hope this series continues. I think there are more stories to tell.
