I adore the Winston Brothers series by rom-com author Penny Reid, so I jumped on the chance to review the Deluxe edition of TRUTH OR BEARD, which is book number one in this delightful series. It’s been 10 years since this series started. I love it so much that I re-read the whole series at least once a year.
This series features the six hot bearded brothers and one sister of the large Winston family, a gaggle of odd but lumberjack-sort-of-sexy men living in small town Tennessee. All the brothers are quirky in their own ways, which is simply magical. This was a spin-off from Reid’s Knitting in the City series, which is another series I adore and reread yearly. We get alternating points of view from Duane Winston and Jessica James, which heightens the understanding and also the steam factor!
The many intertwined relationships are part of what makes these books so great for me. The romantic relationships are frankly divine. But the family ties and the friendships are equally as strong, giving the stories a lot of emotional oomph. Fans of Emily Henry or of the show Gilmore Girls will relish the offbeat characters and zany plotlines. I revel every delicious chapter in Reid’s TRUTH OR BEARD.
