Romance Suspense

It has taken Faith Prescott three years to get over her affair with Will Bridger. Now, as fate would have it, they've both landed in Hazard, Wyoming (a town where the wind never stops blowing), for entirely different reasons.

Gossip around town claims that Will has run, like a coward, back to his hometown after a cop shooting went wrong in Savannah. That isn't further from the truth. Will has returned as sheriff to raise a son he never knew he had until a few short months ago. Faith has come to Hazard to escape a man who's been threatening her life. She had hopes for a high-energy newscast since working for KWIND radio, but ends up working the midnight hours instead.

There's been a murder -- a gruesome, bloody murder the likes of which Will has never seen before. A young girl is butchered and the murderer is still on the loose. Will knows this isn't the last they've seen of the killer, who must be stopped before he kills again.

Faith wants to scoop the story. It's on a frozen lake, in icy night time temperatures, at the bloody scene of this murder that Faith and Will run into each other after their three year separation. The tone of their voices may say one thing, but the smoldering looks start melting the snow beneath their feet. (My gosh, I think the pages of my book started smoking!)

From a distance, the murderer watches the events unfold. He's a born predator. In the end, one will always live and one will always die. He loves the hunt.

IMPULSE is fast-paced and full of the romance and passion this author always gifts us with. It's JoAnn Ross at her adventurous best with an unforgettable story of love and the fateful decisions that shape our lives. This is a suspense thriller with richly drawn characters, a powerful story and a heart stopping ending. Don't miss this one. Ms. Ross just keeps getting better and better, and I don't miss anything she writes.

SUMMARY

Hazard, Wyoming, is a quiet mountain town where there's snow on the ground from October until June, the wind blows all the time, and nothing much ever happens. But that's all about to change. Because, just when the wind suddenly stops, a killer comes to Hazard -- a hunter as deadly and primal as evil itself.

When Sheriff Will Bridger sees the murdered teenage girl, it's the worst scene he's ever witnessed. But there's worse to come. Much, much worse. While the nights grow longer and the winter snow gets deeper, the violence intensifies. As does the blazing passion between Will and late-night radio host Faith Prescott. Harboring secrets as potentially dangerous as his own, Faith knows all too well the dark side of the human heart. She can help Will. If he'll only let her.

It won't be easy, though. The man who was once the boy raised by wolves is no ordinary serial killer. Fortunately, Will Bridger is no ordinary cop.
